The First Event

It's beginning.

The first in a series of events have begun. The G-Field has begun testing their atmospheric altering techniques this week. What everyone mistook as a record-setting heat wave was simply a successful surface wave, abet a minor one. I'm actually anxious awaiting the upcoming actions even though I know what's coming. Funny, huh?

An earthquake is scheduled to rattle the east coast in about a month. They are rarely felt here. We'll have the dimensional sensors in place to confirm the Entity's involvement, if any.

Also, Anne detected agency personnel in town. There's little chance anyone is on to us, but it still bears watching. Maybe there is foreknowledge they're not sharing with the community. Would the government really do that? Considering the loss of life to follow, wouldn't preparations already be in place? I guess there is a separation of classes where only the elite are saved. Or maybe they simply don't know.

The Paradox and The Spin

I understand the problems a possible paradox poses with our trip to the 21st century. With the Entity's visit confirmed, and the events Anne and I are here to record differing to what we already know, rather, what we thought we knew, there is plenty to be wary of. The paradox I'm referring to is Dr. Ambler.

You see, she can't help herself when she sees someone in pain, even mild discomfort. She's repaired dozen's of fractures (not simply set, like they used to do here, but fully fused the bones), removed cancerous cells in the blood of a child of one of our neighbors (I can't wait until his improved condition mystifies the local medical community), and cured various other aliments of random strangers. We better be careful or she'll start to get a reputation of a healer or sorts. Alternatively, Anne has little patience for the local criminal element. She's stunned nearly a dozen so far, including an abusive cop whom she instantly transported to a safe area in New Hampshire. I'm sure no one will believe him. Still, we must be more careful...

There are numerous newspapers on stands with outlandish headlines that the simpler folk here buy. What passes for honest reporting astounds me. Even within the supposed "serious" publications, the truth is hard to spot. I've noticed a spin on the reporting that supports the agenda of the originazation that pays their wages. Real data is sorely lacking to the general population. It's no wonder they never knew.
